Pastor Fay has been our Children’s Ministries Director in Alaska for a little over 7 years.  She has been a wonderful inspiration to everyone— kids and adults alike.  She was recently elected as our Central Section Presbyter with lots of brand new responsibilities.  This means that she needed to give up some of the current responsibility she carries.  So, she has resigned her position as our Alaska District Children’s Ministries Director effective December 31, 2007. 

I was appointed to be her successor starting in January.  Although I knew that someday maybe I would be in this place, (I have been her sidekick for the last 6 years) it happened much sooner than I ever expected.  As I ponder the new responsibilities ahead of me and the tremendous privilege it is, I am excited, humbled and little nervous! I am walking in a new set of shoes, pretty great shoes!  When I came across the above picture I felt that it was very descriptive of Pastor Fay’s leadership.  She has done a wonderful job as our leader.  She has led with grace, style, hard work,  lots of fun and laughter, and a reminder to everyone that we are the King’s Kids!  Pastor Fay, I love you and thank you for your wonderful leadership and all you have poured into me!

Our 4th annual Kid’s Convention and Fine Arts Festival was a big success.  We had kids from around our state who gathered together for 3 great services, our Fine Arts Festival and some fun at H2Oasis. 

Pastor David Wright from Fairbanks preached about fighting the "good fight" in the army of the Lord.  He helped us understand that we are on the winning side!  Thanks Pastor David for your words of encouragement.

Our Fine Arts Festival was great.  There were 33 entries in various categories.  MCA had entries in puppets, art, solo, instrumental solo, and instrumental ensemble.  I was so proud of our kids.  They did a great job.

We had lots of fun at H2Oasis.  It was a great time to kick back and enjoy hanging out together.   Before we knew it, our weekend was over.  Another Kid’s Convention is in the history books.
